Job Description
Reporting into the Transport Shift Manager, the Transport Operations Support will provide general administration support to the Transport Department.
Working hours: Monday to Thursday nights, 17.00-03.30 (flexibility required for a 4 on 4 off shift, 19.00-07.00 at times to cover holiday).
Salary: £26,137.50 per annum.
Key Duties of Transport Operations Support:
* Briefing and debriefing drivers accurately.
* Checking all timesheets and ensuring paperwork is correct and organized.
* Checking driver wallets and issuing necessary information, such as mail.
* Printing dispatch notes and replenishing dispatch paper as needed.
* Answering calls and assisting with inquiries.
* Downloading drivers’ cards/tachographs.
* Communicating all Estimated Time of Arrivals (ETAs).
* Updating spreadsheets, including trailer changeovers, run summaries, and trailer check sheets.
* Departing loads using Warehouse Management System (WMS) and recording all departures.
* Ensuring uplifts are dispatched correctly.
* Reporting overspill and completing relevant paperwork accurately.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
* Good attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent communication skills for delivering accurate information.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
* Effective prioritization to meet deadlines.
* Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) or equivalent.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
