Role: Gas Manager Location: Devon & Cornwall (Hybrid working with travel required) Contract: Temporary, Full-time Salary: £24.40 Per hour PAYE (Inc Holiday) | £31.19 Per hour LTD Umbrella About the Role Service Care Solutions is proud to be working in partnership with a leading Housing Association who are seeking to appoint an experienced Gas Manager. This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing a team of Gas Engineers and ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality heating installation, servicing, and maintenance across Devon and Cornwall. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management of staff, budgetary control, compliance, and performance delivery, ensuring that services meet both regulatory requirements and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of Gas Engineers to deliver a professional and cost-effective service. Oversee service delivery, including installations, servicing, and repairs, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and Gas Safe regulations. Manage budgets effectively, including forecasting, monitoring expenditure, and authorising requisitions. Maintain accurate records of stock, equipment, and resource allocation. Drive performance through effective people management, recruitment, training, and development. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients. Prepare quotations and tenders where required to support service growth. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and statutory regulations at all times. Essential Requirements City & Guilds Plumbing qualifications (or equivalent). Current Gas Safe Registration across relevant disciplines (CCN1, CEN1, HTR1, CPA1, CKR1, WAT1, OFT101, UDHW, OFT102, OFT105E, CIGA1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, OFT600A, Energy Efficiency). Proven experience in managing heating services, repairs, and installations, ideally within the social housing sector. Strong technical knowledge of domestic and commercial heating systems. Demonstrable experience in budget management and operational leadership. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Competence in Microsoft Office applications. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Devon and Cornwall. Desirable Qualifications/Experience IOSH/ILM Management Qualification. VRQ Level 4 Certificate in Gas Safety Management in Social Housing. First Aid at Work, CDM 2015, and Asbestos Awareness. Experience in quality assurance and compliance monitoring.
