Piping Designer – Somerset – Up to £75k plus excellent benefits
Our client, a well-established engineering services organisation operating within the nuclear sector, is seeking an experienced Piping Designer to support major UK nuclear projects in the Somerset area. This role focuses on PDMS model administration, piping design support, and system management to enable efficient, high-quality project delivery.

The Piping Designer responsibilities:
* Managing and setting up PDMS model files to support automated generation of design deliverables across site.
* Installing and maintaining PDMS bases and catalogues to ensure data integrity, compliance, and efficient design workflows.
* Administering PDMS user access, licensing, and system controls to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
* Supporting design and project teams by resolving software, data, and model issues quickly and effectively.
* Working closely with internal teams, software providers, and client stakeholders to support model updates, transfers, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate:
* Proven experience as a Piping Designer within nuclear, industrial, or heavy engineering environments.
* Strong background in piping design, ideally within nuclear power plant projects.
* Solid understanding of PDMS administration, execution design, and model control for large industrial projects.
* Experience supporting design teams with software maintenance, fault diagnosis, and resolution.
* Ability to obtain SC Clearance.
* Experience in pipe manufacturing or working on construction sites or operational plants.
* Knowledge of 2D and 3D design software rules and compliance requirements.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
