The Opportunity
A well-established steel processing company based in Dudley is currently looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

You will be working as part of a two-person engineering team on shift, alongside an electrician, supporting the maintenance and reliability of plant machinery.
Working Hours
Rotating 3-shift pattern:
6:00am – 2:00pm
2:00pm – 10:00pm
Salary & Benefits
£40,000 – £45,000 annual salary (including shift allowance)
Weekly pay
33 days annual leave including fixed shutdown periods
Company pension scheme (3% employee / 3% employer contribution – currently under review)

Role Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and machinery.
Respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance issues to minimise downtime.
Work safely and professionally while adhering to company health and safety procedures.
Complete shift reports and maintenance documentation.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and the wider engineering team.
Key Duties
Maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
General welding and fabrication work
Oxygen / acetylene burning
Bench fitting and mechanical repairs
Operation of forklifts, cherry pickers and overhead cranes (OHC) where required
Experience & Qualifications
Time served apprenticeship preferred
NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering
Previous experience within heavy industry or manufacturing environments
Experience with steel processing equipment such as slitting or decoiling lines would be advantageous
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
