About You
* Proven experience in transport management, logistics, or fleet operations within food manufacturing, FMCG, or distribution sectors
* Hold a CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in Transport Management (Essential)
* Strong knowledge of transport regulations, including DVSA, Operator Licences, and health & safety compliance
* Demonstrable success in cost control, route optimisation, and operational efficiency improvements
* Leadership skills with experience managing and developing drivers and logistics teams
* Proficient in Transport Management Systems (TMS) and fleet tracking software
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities
* (Desirable) NEBOSH or IOSH certification in health & safety, and experience with telematics and logistics automation
What You'll Do
* Lead and manage daily transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries
* Ensure compliance with all transport legislation and health & safety standards
* Oversee fleet maintenance and vehicle records, including driver working hours and infringements
* Monitor and control operational costs, including diesel usage and fleet efficiency
* Supervise route planning and optimise delivery schedules
* Manage budgets, invoices, and purchase orders associated with transport operations
* Provide training and development to your team, fostering a safety-first culture
* Engage in continuous improvement initiatives across the department
* Partner with insurance and safety teams to maintain regulatory standards and incident management
