Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:
We’re looking for an Major Projects Construction / Project Manager to join our Powergrids team.
You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of cable infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. You will oversee teams, subcontractors, and resources, ensuring strict compliance with safety standards and quality assurance. Success in this position calls for proven leadership, in-depth knowledge of cable construction, and robust project management capabilities.
You will be responsible for:
Construction/Project Budget
1. Pre-Construction activities, specify required resources, SOW creation, review & Sign off, DOR creation, review & Sign off, Review tender budgets.
2. Attend a weekly Tender review meeting to understand the upcoming tenders and complete pre-construction/tender requirements, ensuring that all information is updated specific to site requirements.
3. Attend site visits to ensure the SOW, DOR and cost budget are aligned to reality and the practical challenges faced in construction.
Construction / Project Management
4. Attend all handover meetings from tender to project execution.
5. Enforcing strict adherence to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
6. Coach, support and mentor Project and Contract managers on required construction requirements.
7. Visit project construction sites to ensure construction is being executed in line with the project requirements.
8. Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
9. Support the Project Managers by liaising directly with Client representatives and attending project meetings.
10. Review Project POW and add knowledge and support to Project/Contract Managers.
11. Identifying and resolving any construction-related risks, issues or challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle and work proactively to decide on actions to mitigate identified risks.
Project Execution Cost Control
12. Support Contract Managers and Project managers to ensure cost reports are accurate and reflective of construction challenges, offering solutions to improve margin.
13. Attend Monthly Cost report review meetings and add your construction knowledge and input/support to overcome project execution related challenges at the monthly contract review meetings with senior leadership.
Resource Management
14. Manage a team of Major Projects Project Engineers / Site Managers including but not limited to Holidays, timesheets, expenses, etc
15. Ensure all Major Projects are resourced as required, working with the project managers and contract managers to solve resource challenges through internal employees (across MP or ENS) or external agencies to ensure competent contract labour.
16. Work with the Contract team to ensure a full understanding of Jointing resource requirements based on tender, upcoming projects and projects in execution. Communicating to the Jointing manager to ensure resource is assigned for Major Projects.

17. Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams effectively
18. In-depth technical expertise in cable construction, including practical experience with cable infrastructure projects
19. Proven project management capabilities, with a track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high standards
20. Experience managing subcontractors and resources, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality control
21. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve construction-related risks and challenges proactively
22. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, senior leadership, and project teams
23. Computer literacy, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
