About the Role
N-able is building a new Software Engineering team in its Dundee hub. We are looking to hire a Manager, Software Engineering who will oversee the delivery of software solutions, define project scope and objectives. This role manages a team of software engineers, providing guidance, making technical decisions, creating project plans, and driving process improvements. The manager will monitor project progress to ensure timely and quality delivery and manage stakeholder relationships to align efforts towards common goals.
What You'll Do
* Oversee development and implementation of software solutions.
* Build and manage high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
* Define project scope and objectives, and develop project plans and schedules.
* Monitor project progress, adjust plans as needed, and mitigate risks.
* Collaborate with Product teams on roadmaps and with other Engineering Managers and Architects to enhance engineering practices.
* Enforce and lead organizational processes and best practices.
* Stay updated with industry trends and company developments.
* Address technical debt and other issues affecting software maintainability, performance, scalability, and security, implementing best practices like code reviews, testing, and documentation.
What You'll Bring

* Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Experience with project management tools, planning, and estimation.
* Experience with code and design reviews.
