The Opportunity
This is not just a team leader role - it's a chance to shape how future talent connects with industry.
We're looking for someone who can lead from the front, drive employer engagement, and build meaningful partnerships that translate into real opportunities for learners. You'll take ownership of a small but high-impact team, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality work placements while expanding employer networks.
If you're commercially minded, relationship-driven, and comfortable managing performance -you'll thrive here.
What You'll Be Doing
Leading, coaching, and developing a team responsible for sourcing and managing work placements
Driving employer engagement activity - including business development, networking, and lead generation
Building and maintaining strong relationships with local, regional, and national employers
Ensuring consistent achievement of placement targets and KPIs
Using data and performance metrics to improve outcomes and processes
Overseeing the full work placement lifecycle - from sourcing to quality assurance
Supporting employers with guidance to ensure successful placement experiences
Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection standards
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to align placement activity with wider organisational goals What We're Looking For
This role needs someone who can balance leadership with commercial awareness. If you're just a people manager with no delivery focus - this won't land. Likewise, if you're purely sales-driven but can't lead a team - it'll show quickly.
You'll likely bring:
Experience in employer engagement, business development, or placement programmes
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to hit targets
Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
Confidence working with data to drive decisions and improvements
A proactive, self-directed approach - you won't be micromanaged
Excellent communication and organisational skills Bonus points if you have:
Experience within education, training, or skills-based environments
Exposure to industry placements, apprenticeships, or similar programmes
