Job Description
About the role
We’re looking for an experiencedFLT Driver / General Operativeto join CHEP – the global leader in pallet, crate, and container pooling. You’ll be operating forklifts safely to support production operations and service hauliers, includingvacuum lift operationto sort CHEP pallets to specific standards.
What you’ll do
1. Safely operate FLT trucks to support production & haulier operations
2. Direct visiting vehicles during loading & unloading
3. Maintain smooth flow on production lines within agreed SLAs
4. Sort stocks to correct standards following specific guidelines
5. Ensure trucks and equipment are well maintained; report operational problems including damage to truck or property
6. Carefully handle and store company hire stock while following required stock rotations
What we need from you
7. Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse yard (or similar) environment
8. Strong communication skills with hauliers
9. Minimum 2 years’ counterbalance forklift operation experience
10. External FLT licence (RTITB or ITSSAR) – up to 5 tons (B1) or equivalent
11. Reach Forklift Qualification (desirable)
12. RTITB trained (desirable)
13. Safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work to quality standards
