Where and when do we need you?
We are seeking a Pastoral Coordinator to join our team at our specialist Autism School located at the new Eastleigh Campus of Glade School. This role involves supporting the inclusion of pupils daily, delivering a pastoral program that enables access to education and a structured timetable of vocational and classroom-based learning.
We believe in creating a person-centred program tailored to each child's needs, using a unique 'autistic curriculum' that addresses social, emotional, and communication needs, fostering independence and well-being. Our students often have long histories of being out of mainstream or specialist education placements.
About Our Specialist Service
In this role, you will be involved in:
* Overseeing daily timetable coordination by creating bespoke schedules for each student and communicating these effectively to ensure a safe and engaging learning environment.
* Providing each student with a pastoral plan tailored to their needs, using therapeutic strategies to help them feel safe and valued.
* Writing risk assessments and support plans, ensuring staff understand student needs and can respond appropriately.
* Maintaining safe, respectful relationships with students, supporting their social and emotional development while respecting professional boundaries.
* Responding to crises with trauma-informed approaches and therapeutic interventions to ensure safety.
* Accurately recording and reporting information within required timeframes to facilitate proactive and statutory responses.
* Reflecting on personal reactions during crisis situations through supervision and training to manage emotional impacts.
This role is offered on a 37.5 hours/week, term-time only basis. Candidates must have a full driving license and access to a car. An enhanced DBS check is required, with costs covered by Fair Ways.
You and your specialisms
To succeed, you should have:
* A relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or a Level 3 Diploma in childcare, or demonstrable relevant experience.
* An understanding of legislation related to education and child protection policies and procedures.
