Our shows facilitate face-to-face business meetings between exhibitors (who include international hotel chains, convention bureaux, destination management companies and tech providers) and meeting and event planners. We are based in Brighton and Hove 3 Days a week in the office Salary is up to £35k DOE with a yearly bonus of up to 13% of salary. Role overview To manage and provide outstanding customer service to a portfolio of international clients; whilst seeking opportunities to grow and develop the overall sales portfolio through the development of existing business and acquisition of new clients. Client Management & Market Knowledge Manage own client portfolio using a consultative sales approach. Develop strong relationships with clients to maximise exhibition space and sponsorship revenue. Work closely with your client portfolio to identify marketing & sponsorship opportunities to ensure they get return on their investment and objectives at IMEX Group exhibitions. Identify new business development opportunities within your sales portfolio areas through continuous research and working with key industry partners. Gain knowledge and understanding of the meetings industry through career experience or involvement in industry organisations. Attendance at industry events and trade shows where required, providing feedback on key learnings and business development. Actively engaged on social media channels Understand the full cycle of IMEX shows and adapt priorities as client needs change, particularly during the intense 4–6 week lead-up to each show. · Be prepared to work on-site at IMEX shows in Las Vegas and Frankfurt, collaborating closely with multiple teams in an “all hands on deck” environment, engaging face-to-face with clients, and solving problems in real time. Planning & Organizing Self-sufficient on a day-to-day basis; pro-active in forward planning and prioritizing tasks to manage own workload. Pro-active approach to problem solving & decision-making. Ability to work autonomously on own projects being responsible for delivering results whilst adhering to given timeframes and budgets. Positive approach and willingness to assist any other members of the overall IMEX team, where needed, to ensure the ultimate success of each show. A natural planner, who is reliable & determined and able to work under pressure. Familiarity with CRM software & procedures to enable effective client management. Flexibility to manage shifting priorities as deadlines approach and workload intensifies before shows. · Ability to remain calm and solution-focused under pressure during peak periods and on-site. Communication Excellent communication & negotiation skills - verbal and written communication is of a high quality & level of accuracy whilst being timely, concise, constructive, and friendly - both internally and externally. Can adapt to different styles of working and communicating with colleagues and clients as required. Strong interpersonal & collaborative skills - ability to collaborate well with other team members to develop cross-departmental knowledge. · Willing to share opinions & ideas in a constructive manner to support any business improvements or developments. · Confident in hosting webinars for exhibitors, sharing best practices for using IMEX systems. · Comfortable answering inbound sales calls when needed and assisting with the sales email inbox during busy times. Keeps in touch with the latest industry trends (market and/or professional). Person Specification Proven experience in relationship management, ideally within the meetings industry. Strong account management skills; able to develop good relationships with clients and stakeholders. Experience in dealing with international clientele, a plus. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to drive sales and business development Proactive within the sales team and wider company – willingness to take on new projects, support other members and make decisions on own initiative. Proven presentation skills – confident to present to internal & external audiences. Willingness and ability to travel on own while always representing IMEX in a positive light.
