Health & Safety Manager – Leiston
CLIENT
Linum Consult’s client is a leading international main contractor with extensive experience delivering large-scale EPC and infrastructure projects worldwide. They are currently engaged on one of the UK’s most significant power projects, contributing to the country’s clean energy future.
They are seeking a Health & Safety Manager to oversee the ground engineering works, based on site in Leiston, England.
Responsibilities
* Leading the development, implementation, and continuous review of the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Management Plan for the ground engineering works
* Ensuring all activities comply with the Construction Phase Plan (CPP) and the client’s Standard Occupational Health and Safety Requirements
* Coordinating with all contractors and subcontractors to ensure safe systems of work are in place
* Overseeing the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements, ensuring they meet standards and are fit for construction
* Monitoring compliance for excavations, lifting operations, working at height, plant and equipment, hazardous substances, and temporary works
* Leading investigations into any incidents and near misses
* Conducting regular site inspections, audits, and behavioural safety observations
* Participating in weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews, and contributing to management reporting
Qualifications
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
* Ideally have an NVQ Level 5 or 6 in Health & Safety
* Significant experience of administering, executing, and managing the Health & Safety on large scale construction and engineering projects
* Experienced in developing and implementing H&S management systems
* Skilled in incident investigations and root cause analysis
* Strong communication and management skills, with the ability to liaise with all levels of stakeholders
* The right to live and work in the UK, ideally locally to Leiston, Suffolk
