A leading food retailer and wholesaler in the North West is looking for a Senior Trading Manager to take full ownership of one of its key ambient grocery ranges. In this role, you’ll define and deliver the Buying and Category Strategy for your range, building a profitable, competitive offer across both branded and own‑label lines. You’ll develop and launch compelling ranges, bring new suppliers into the fold, and strengthen existing partnerships. Negotiating sharp cost prices—particularly across major chilled brands—will be central to your success, as will maintaining accurate contracts and price files. You’ll also lead in‑season promotional activity to maximise sales, margin, and supplier income.
We’re seeking an experienced Buyer or Trader from the FMCG retail or wholesale food sector, someone who is focused on driving sales, having managed a category end‑to‑end and consistently delivered commercial results. You’ll combine strong supplier‑relationship skills with the confidence to negotiate competitive terms, and you’ll bring the curiosity and creativity needed to stay ahead of the market while keeping customers front and centre.
The package includes a competitive salary reaching six figures (dependent on experience), private healthcare, a contributory pension, and 25 days’ holiday that increases with service, alongside a range of additional benefits.
