An outstanding job opportunity has arisen for a committed Principal Psychologist to work in an exceptional hospital based in the Hale, Manchester area. You will be working for one of UK's leading healthcare providers.
The hospital has an established reputation for providing the highest standards of care along with an extensive range of clinical services. The hospital offers residential facilities for patients, as well as busy day care and outpatient services.
To be considered for this position, you must be a HCPC-registered Forensic Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist with forensic experience.
Key responsibilities of the Principal Psychologist include:
1. Undertaking specialist clinical duties contributing to assessment and treatment of patients.
2. Providing psychological therapies for patients with personality disorders, mental disorders, intellectual disabilities, and complex trauma, including developing specialist psychological formulations and assessments, and formulating treatment plans.
3. Providing specialist psychological assessments based on analysis, interpretation, and integration of complex data.
4. Administering and interpreting assessments of cognitive and emotional functioning to assist the multidisciplinary team in diagnosis and treatment planning.
5. Planning, implementing, and evaluating individual and group treatments based on theoretical and therapeutic models and best practice guidelines.
Preferred skills and experience:
1. Experience or interest in rehabilitation and recovery of patients in a forensic setting.
2. Skills in individual and group work, and program planning.
3. Use of complex psychological assessment methods to inform formulation and intervention.
4. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, especially for complex or sensitive information.
Salary and benefits:
The successful candidate will receive an excellent salary of GBP58,250 - GBP68,250 FTE per annum. This is a permanent part-time role working 30 hours per week. Benefits include:
