Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the kitchen staff in various tasks, ensuring that food preparation and service run smoothly while adhering to food safety standards.
Duties
* Assist in meal preparation and cooking under the guidance of chefs
* Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils
* Follow food safety protocols to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are met
* Help with catering events as required, providing support during service times
* Serve food to customers or staff as needed, ensuring presentation meets our standards
* Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages
Qualifications
* Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is preferred
* Familiarity with food preparation techniques and cooking methods
* Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
* Experience in catering or restaurant environments is advantageous
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
* Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards learning and development
* Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain high standards of cleanliness
