Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Counter Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while assisting with food preparation and maintaining a clean and organised workspace. You will play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and efficient service.
Barista skills are a plus, but training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately.
- Assist in food preparation while adhering to food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area and kitchen.
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
- Handle cash transactions and perform basic maths for order processing.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food items.
- Manage time effectively to meet customer demands during peak hours.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a culinary or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for customer service and helping others enjoy their dining experience.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
