The Role:
Accounts Preparation
* Prepare statutory accounts for diverse clients including limited companies, partnerships, sole traders, LLPs, and pension schemes
* Work with trial balances and incomplete records across various accounting platforms (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and others)
* Handle budgeting and planning processes, maintaining direct client relationships to resolve accounting queries
* Review and finalise reporting packages in collaboration with senior management
Audit Responsibilities
* Take charge of audit engagements from initial planning stages through to completion
* Conduct risk assessments, establish materiality thresholds, and design sampling strategies
* Perform on-site audit procedures including stock counts and substantive testing
* Complete analytical reviews and ensure audit file completion to professional standards
Tax Services
* Prepare VAT returns, personal tax computations, and corporation tax calculations
* Handle P11D preparations and provide general tax advisory support
Team Leadership & Development
* Supervise and review work performed by junior staff members
* Provide technical guidance and resolve complex queries before manager review
* Mentor semi-senior and junior team members, supporting their professional development
* Identify opportunities for additional services across the firm's client base
What You Bring:
* ACA/ACCA qualification (or equivalent professional qualification)
* Proven ability to manage diverse client portfolios across multiple industry sectors
* Strong technical knowledge of accounting software (Sage, Xero, CCH, VT, QuickBooks, etc.)
* Outstanding communication skills and strong organisational abilities
* Experience in staff supervision and junior team member development
