We are looking for caring and dedicated ASD Learning Support Assistants to join a specialist primary school in the SL3 area. The school provides a calm, structured, and nurturing environment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs. Graduates with the right attitude, enthusiasm, and commitment are strongly encouraged to apply.
Full time only – January Start
Key Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant
1. Support children with ASD in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
2. Help pupils access learning and develop independence.
3. Use visual aids, communication tools, and structured routines to promote engagement.
4. Assist with personal care needs (toileting, dressing, hygiene) when required.
5. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to deliver tailored support.
6. Encourage emotional regulation, social interaction, and confidence.
About You as a SEN Teaching Assistant
7. Caring, patient, and reliable.
8. Genuine interest in supporting children with autism and additional needs.
9. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
10. Flexible and eager to learn.
11. Experience in a school or SEN setting is an advantage.
12. Degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is desirable.
13. Familiarity with PECS or Makaton is beneficial (training provided).
