About the role Optical Express is recruiting a Business Analyst to join our growing analytics function, based at our Glasgow head office. Reporting directly to the Senior Biostatistician, this role plays a key part in turning complex data into meaningful insight that supports strategic decision-making across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing a wide range of business performance reports and, over time, will develop the capability to interpret trends, identify opportunities, and provide clear, actionable outputs to the senior leadership team. Key responsibilities Produce accurate, timely business performance reports across multiple functions Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and management information packs Analyse trends and variances, highlighting risks and opportunities Work closely with the Senior Biostatistician to develop analytical models and methodologies Translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders Support ad-hoc analysis requests from the senior leadership team Ensure data integrity, consistency, and best practice across reporting outputs About you Degree-educated in a relevant discipline (e.g. analytics, statistics, mathematics, economics, business) Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail Experience creating business performance reports and dashboards Confident working with large datasets and multiple data sources Comfortable explaining data and insights to non-technical stakeholders Highly organised, proactive, and keen to develop commercially focused insight skills Desirable skills Experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau or similar) Advanced Excel skills; experience with SQL or statistical software is advantageous Previous exposure to healthcare, retail, or regulated environments What we offer Competitive salary and benefits package Career development within a market-leading healthcare organisation Exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making Modern city-centre office location at 200SVS, Glasgow Supportive, collaborative analytics team with clear progression opportunities Optical Express is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
