About the role
We are seeking a strategic and commercially focused Marketing, Communication and Events Manager to develop and implement a new marketing strategy aligned with Brimmond's growth objectives.
This is a pivotal role within the business which requires someone who thrives on having the autonomy to work independently and make decisions.
Working closely with the Sales Director, Business Development colleagues and our Senior Leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and delivering a clear, data-driven marketing plan that supports revenue growth, strengthens brand positioning, and generates measurable return on investment.
The role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on delivery to lead campaigns, analyse performance metrics, and ensure marketing activity directly supports commercial objectives.
This role currently has no internal line management responsibilities but does involve managing external support agencies.
Strategy & Planning
* Develop and implement a new, multi-year marketing strategy aligned with Brimmond's business plan
* Develop and manage the Marketing & Events budget
* Translate company growth objectives into actionable annual marketing plans
* Define clear sector-specific value propositions (Defence, Aquaculture, Energy, Marine)
* Align marketing activity with agreed KPIs and revenue targets
* Lead monthly marketing planning meetings with key stakeholders and external agencies.
Brand & Positioning
* Simplify and strengthen brand messaging to clearly articulate our service offering
* Ensure consistency of brand across website, digital, events, merchandise and printed materials
* Maximise media reach and strengthen Brimmond's voice in priority industries
* Support customer-facing employees to embody the brand.
Campaign & Content Management
* Plan and deliver coordinated marketing campaigns
* Oversee website development, SEO performance and enquiry generation
* Manage all social media including content creation, strategy, engagement, and growth
* Develop case studies, technical content, sector-specific materials and award submissions
* Oversight of creative production including photography, video and graphic design, including managing templates and branded assets.
Events
* Deliver Brimmond's annual internal and external events calendar (UK and international).
* Evaluate event ROI and lead generation effectiveness.
* Coordinate exhibitions, sponsorships and industry networking initiatives
* Maximise value from industry memberships and events
PR & Communications
* Coordinate external PR and design agencies
* Management of PR and media activity via external agency support, including press releases, opinion pieces, editorial features, award entries, case studies and interview/speaking opportunities.
* Work closely with Sales and senior leadership to ensure marketing and commercial alignment
* Support internal communications and recruitment marketing where required.
Sector Growth support
* Create targeted multi-channel campaigns to establish and grow Brimmond's presence in the Defence sector
* Develop tailored marketing initiatives to increase Aquaculture market share
* Support international brand consistency and lead generation across UAE and US hubs
* Support sector membership activity and leverage memberships for lead generation, visibility and credibility.
Performance, Reporting & Budget Control
* Manage and report against agreed marketing KPIs including:
* Lead generation and source tracking
* Website traffic and enquiries
* Social media engagement and reach
* Campaign ROI
* Budget vs Actual
* Maintain accurate reporting and analytics to support decision-making.
* Manage the marketing budget and external agency relationships.
* Proven experience in developing and delivering successful marketing strategies
* Proven experience in delivering events
* Experience managing multi-channel campaigns
* Experience managing budgets and demonstrating ROI
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work both strategically and operationally in a growing business
* Strong commercial awareness with ability to link marketing activity to revenue growth
* Strong analytical skills with ability to track and interpret performance data
* Experience supporting international market growth
* Understanding of B2B marketing within technical industries
* Knowledge of CRM systems and marketing automation platforms
* Experience managing PR or creative agencies
* Experience in industrial, engineering, energy, marine, aquaculture or defence sectors
* Knowledge of SAP, Ariba, or other procurement systems
