Senior Business Analyst - FTC (12 months)
We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to take a role in M&G Life to help us achieve key strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead viability analysis for small, medium and large sized projects, and support larger and more complex projects delivered by our strategic partners.
* Serve as an example and leader for other Business Analysts, defining overall approach, setting priorities, coaching and upholding standards.
* Work with the business and strategic partners to analyse and understand business problems, opportunities and desired outcomes.
* Lead the definition and agreement of solution design for projects, ensuring robust governance.
* Provide oversight and assurance of analysis and solution design activity delivered by strategic partners.
* Identify and compare best processes or delivery methods, measure and evaluate outcomes, and help the team decide the best approach.
* Analyse current products/services and processes, identify optimisation opportunities, and evaluate requirements using techniques such as gap analysis.
* Use quantitative and qualitative data to define outcomes and solutions.
* Investigate problems and analyse options for new and existing products and services.
* Provide options and recommend solutions; work with stakeholders to identify objectives, opportunities and potential benefits.
Key Skills, Competencies & Experience
* Collaborate and communicate with sponsors and stakeholders at all organisational levels, using a broad range of tools and approaches.
* Interpret data from diverse sources, including user research and process metrics, to support data‑driven decisions.
* Create user flows, wireframes and business process maps for current and future designs.
* Apply an innovative mindset to problem solving, thinking creatively and generating ideas for continuous improvement.
* Manage expectations and maintain upward communication.
* Identify key stakeholders, balance their needs with user needs, and build consensus.
* Work comfortably in Agile, Waterfall and hybrid environments, understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each methodology.
* Adhere to Change Governance standards.
Experience
* Lead other Business Analysts and manage multiple deliverables across a portfolio.
* Work in fast‑paced, challenging environments with various methodologies.
* Have 5+ years of successful delivery across a broad spectrum of project types and environments.
* Resolve ambiguity where stakeholder priorities are unclear or conflicting.
* Contribute to and achieve good customer outcomes.
* Facilitate workshops to understand business needs, gather requirements and ensure continued alignment with user needs.
* Have experience and knowledge of Financial Services products and practices (essential).
* Experience operating as a Business Analyst within a Life & Pensions organisation (desirable).
* Experience working with and providing oversight of third‑party partners and providers (desirable).
