HOURS: 37 hours, term time only plus all inset days
Are you a resilient and empathetic professional capable of making a real difference to young people’s lives? We are seeking a dedicated Non-Teaching Assistant Head of Year to join our pastoral team, working directly with students to remove barriers to learning and build a culture of success.
About WPT
At Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT), we are fueled by a single commitment: 'We never do less for other people’s children than we would for our own.' As a thriving network of schools across South Yorkshire, we combine high expectations with embedded inclusivity. We do not work in silos; instead, we rely on deep collaboration and school-to-school support to ensure every student develops socially, emotionally, and academically to achieve the highest standards.
About the Role
In this pivotal non-teaching role, you will be the constant, supportive presence for a specific year group. Working under the direction of the Head of Year, you will manage behaviour, welfare, and academic progress on a day-to-day basis. Because you are not classroom-based, you will be immediately available to respond to incidents, mentor students, and liaise with families. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that every child feels safe, supported, and ready to learn, acting as a bridge between home and school.
Responsibilities
* Intervention & Progress: Assist the Head of Year in planning and delivering targeted interventions, monitoring student progress, and preparing evidence for reviews.
* Behaviour & Support: Proactively monitor behaviour trends and support teaching staff in managing incidents to maintain a positive learning culture.
* Mentoring: Provide direct mentoring to students with identified needs, helping to remove barriers to learning and facilitating access to alternative support where necessary.
* Liaison & Admin: Coordinate home-school links regarding student progress and attitude, and assist with statutory processes including Pastoral Support Plans, EHCP contributions, and transitions from Alternative Provision.
Why Join Us?
* Competitive salary
* Generous Local Government (support staff) and Teacher Pension Schemes
* Health and Wellbeing, including a Westfield Health subscription
* Professional Growth and Development
Closing Date: Noon, Friday 9th January 2026
