Main duties of the job
We are looking for a competent, self-motivated and professional individual. As a flexible team player you will have excellent communication skills and a strong ability to work accurately to tight deadlines. NHS experience is desirable.
You will need to have excellent attention to detail, ideally some medical terminology knowledge and experience in a busy demanding medical environment. You will need to be able to communicate with staff at all levels to ensure information and data quality meets their needs.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
This role is pivotal in working with the multi-disciplinary teams within the Cancer Care wards. Helping to co-ordinate inpatient pathways. To help optimise inpatient bed flow.
To input this data to DWL and initiate an e-Discharge summary with findings and support inpatient team as knowledge grows.
To work collaboratively with other health care professions to ensure all relevant information is captured for coding purposes. As well as this to keep continuity within a team which is changing regularly.
To input and check all patient data is correct utilising Trust systems and reports and to facilitate the compliance of correct data for each patient to ensure that a co-ordinated and streamlined administrative process revolves around the patient and their individual needs.
To provide effective help during ward rounds to ensure efficient patient care.

Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential criteria
NVQ 3 In Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience
RSA 2 word processing / typing or equivalent experience
Knowledge of basic medical terminology
Experience in a busy and demanding medical environment
Experience of working under high pressure and to deadlines
Admin experience within a customer focused environment
Desirable criteria
e-Camis Trained
Knowledge of Doctors Work List, Edocs, PACs, eQuest.
Experience working in the NHS with associated IT systems
