We are looking for experienced, pragmatic, personable and talented Solution Architects and Application Architects for our UK Defence accounts, supporting the delivery of digital, data and technology services. You will have experience of working with national scale systems and services, gained from previous engagements within government Defence departments such as the Ministry of Defence, with ideally exposure or experience of the Army environment, and/or National Security. Your technical skills will be broad, covering aspects such as consulting, cloud services, application integration, data management and custom application development. You will be comfortable working in environments with multiple suppliers and interacting with a varied set of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Define solutions and shape the architectural aspects of programmes, from initial discovery to solution design within product and programme teams.
* Evaluate the current state of a solution or service.
* Identify challenges, gaps and opportunities.
* Identify technical solutions and options.
* Define programme road-maps and set high-level direction.
* Define transition states and transformation approaches.
* Support estimation and business case generation for proposed solutions.
* Guide proposed solutions through technical governance reviews.
* Build relationships with technical and business stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Strong solution architecture experience gained within the Defence and Army environment.
* Strong knowledge of cloud-based services (ideally AWS) and cloud native solutions.
* Experience working within an architectural framework such as TOGAF or Zachman.
* Experience delivering solutions with strict security controls where external security assurance is mandated.
* Experience defining the high-level engineering approach at a programme level, including transition states and architectural road-maps.
* Experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE), such as Archimate and Sparx EA.
* Broad expertise in technologies and applications, including integration and messaging services, digital services, case management, data integration and emerging technology approaches.
* Ability to spot and address common themes and architecturally significant concerns.
* Excellent communication skills and strength in producing high-quality, accurate deliverables.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills.
* Adept at using a range of influencing styles to build strong sustainable relationships.
* Candidates must hold a current SC clearance or be SC clearable.
