Supply Teacher – Durham/Sunderland (September 2026)
Flexible general cover role, £140 to £160 per day, perfect for teachers seeking work-life balance.
Are you tired of the endless planning and marking that comes with permanent teaching? Want to step back from the pressure while staying in the classroom? I'm recruiting Supply Teachers for September 2026 across Durham and Sunderland who want genuine flexibility without the full-time commitment.
What the role involves:
* Delivering pre-prepared lessons across various subjects at KS3 to KS5
* Managing classroom behaviour in different school settings
* Keeping students engaged and on task
* Following school procedures and providing brief feedback to staff
* Adapting to different schools as needed
You'll need:
* QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
* Experience teaching in UK secondary schools
* Solid classroom management skills
* Flexibility to work across different schools
* Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Why this works:
* £140 to £170 per day depending on your experience
* Total control over when you work – choose full-time, part-time, or just occasional days
* Weekly pay via PAYE
* No planning or marking to take home
* Better work-life balance while staying in education
* Access to CPD and ongoing support from me as your dedicated consultant
* Guaranteed work scheme (subject to availability)
Many of the teachers I work with have stepped into supply for exactly this reason – they love teaching but needed breathing room from the relentless workload of permanent roles. If that sounds like you, let's have a conversation.
