We require you to be available during the following periods throughout the week. Your contracted hours will be scheduled within these windows and you will receive at least 3 weeks’ notice.
* Sun: 10:00–16:00
* Mon: 14:00–20:00
* Wed: 08:00–14:00
* Thu: 13:00–20:00
* Fri: 12:00–20:00
* Sat: 08:00–20:00
Pay and Hours
Pharmacy Dispenser rate starts from £13.70 an hour, increasing to £14.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week. You may also work fewer hours—down to a minimum of 12—if that better suits your schedule.
About the Role
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As a Pharmacy Assistant you will support dispensing medicine, provide vaccinations, review medicines, check blood pressure and blood glucose, and offer advice on health choices.
You will work with experienced Pharmacists and managers, receive local management support, and benefit from detailed industry training.
Responsibilities
* Support the operation of one of our modern pharmacies.
* Apply technical skills and strong customer focus to accurately dispense medication.
* Dispense prescription medicines, maintaining accuracy at all times.
* Communicate with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
* Provide information on common ailments, symptoms, and products.
* Explain product benefits clearly and sell appropriate products.
* Advise customers on pharmacy services available.
* Deliver pharmacy services and dispensing processes according to SOP.
* Assess legal appropriateness of dispensed prescriptions.
* Handle clinical and legal queries from health practitioners within competence.
* Respond to customer queries about prescription medicines and report complaints to the pharmacist.
* Follow all dispensary routines and SOP.
* Keep dispensary and consulting rooms clean, tidy and clutter‑free.
* Ensure prescription administration is accurate and timely.
* Support promotional activities and company initiatives.
* Carry out procedures accurately to protect profit and trade safely.
* Complete corporate and departmental training.
* Keep up to date with legal and professional developments in pharmacy.
Qualifications
* Experience in a pharmacy environment.
* Desire to train and develop in the pharmacy field.
* Age over 18 (for roles involving early/late shifts or specific operating areas).
* Minimum of 16 hours a week; willing to work fewer hours if required.
