About the Position
Lane County Public Works seeks an Animal Welfare Officer for its Animal Services Program. This position provides humane animal care and control services, including:
* Performing field enforcement of animal regulation and protection laws
* Assisting the public in finding lost pets
* Educating the public on responsible pet ownership
Other related duties may be assigned.
About the Division
Animal Services is part of the General Services Division of Lane County Public Works. The division aims to ensure public and animal health, safety, and quality of life, fostering a harmonious environment for people and animals.
Schedule
Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm
*This is an AFSCME represented position*
Qualifications
Training
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Specialized training in animal regulation and law enforcement is desirable
Experience
* At least one year of responsible field enforcement and kennel experience
* Or an equivalent combination of experience and training demonstrating required knowledge and abilities
Special Requirements
* Valid Oregon driver’s license
