Plain Film Reporting Radiographer - MSK and Chest
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated individual to join the Radiology team as a Plain Film Musculoskeletal and Chest Reporting Radiographer. The department offers a supportive and encouraging environment in which to develop as a professional. The appointment is for 30 hours per week and will include working a fair share of Bank Holidays.
Responsibilities
* Provide an autonomous reporting service for plain film imaging by analysing, interpreting and issuing an independent report and, when necessary, discussing the findings with the referring clinician.
* Provide expert clinical advice in relation to Emergency Care and support the multidisciplinary team.
* Participate in the further development of the radiographer-led reporting service.
* Deliver presentations/training sessions to enhance knowledge of image reporting to Radiographer colleagues and clinicians.
* Demonstrate ability to act as a recognised expert within diagnostic imaging, providing specialist advice to clinicians as appropriate.
* Carry out a wide range of radiographic procedures using a variety of specialised equipment.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential criteria
* BSc Hons Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
* Post Graduate Diploma in Chest and MSK reporting or equivalent
* HCPC registration
* Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD)
Desirable criteria
* Post Graduate Diploma in Management
Experience
* Experience in the education of others by delivering information/presentations
* Experience post qualification BSc Hons Degree in Diagnostic Radiography
* Experience in monitoring and/or supervising junior and support staff
* Evidence of multidisciplinary team working
Desirable criteria
* Experience in first line management
* Experience with using a Patient Archive and Communication systems (PACS)
* Experience with CRIS
Knowledge
* Knowledge of the NHS Constitution and Understanding the New NHS
* Ability to plan and prioritise patient-centred workload and own workload
* In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology and imaging protocols according to speciality
* Knowledge of current radiographic and wider health care issues
* Ability to use initiative, analyse and solve problems and make decisions
Skills
* Ability to manage difficult situations
* Ability to prioritise work and remain calm under pressure
* Ability to analyse and solve problems, both clinical and non-clinical
* Self-motivated as well as a motivated team-worker
