Water Network Project Engineer Salary - £48,979 Work Type - Hybrid Job Location - Barrow-in-Furness District, Barrow, Cumbria, England, United Kingdom Role Type - Permanent Employment Type - Full Time Working Hours - 37.0 Hours per Week Purpose of the Network Project Engineer: Provide technical and engineering support for regional Network & Capital Delivery projects, ensuring high standards in health and safety, customer satisfaction, and quality. Manage construction activities and resolve complex issues to deliver compliant and efficient water network solutions. Key Accountabilities Attend project sign-off meetings to make sure construction matches the design and costs are accurate. Work with local authorities, highways teams, and landowners to keep projects running smoothly. Support customer teams by helping resolve complaints and ensuring site teams deliver great service and safety. Lead planning and coordination for water network projects, including managing supply interruptions and promoting low-impact methods. Provide technical input to solve challenges on-site and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Manage handovers, approve changes, and make sure all documentation is in place for a smooth transition back to operations. Skills / Experience & Education Minimum of a HNC in an engineering or relevant technical discipline / experience. Technically competent and high degree of expertise in Streetworks practice and legislation Knowledge and experience of water network construction and operation Knowledge of highway reinstatement techniques and requirements Competent and qualified on water hygiene requirements Good planning, organisational and problem solving skills Able to manage projects and a programme of work Ability to work build and connect with Stakeholders Communication & Negotiation skills CDM experience is preferable but non-essential Additional Information PROBLEMS FACED Facilitating decision making where there are several key stakeholders with different views – to ensure project success. Ensure CDM principals are applied consistently across water networks. PLANNING AND ORGANISING Manage a dynamic portfolio of projects to ensure successful delivery to Time, Cost and Quality requirements and milestones. Work with the Programme Manager, Project Manager, Network Performance Managers, Customer Manager, Network Manager and Network Delivery manager to plan key milestones for the construction of Network & Capital Delivery projects.
