As a Sellafield Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the DRS Nuclear Control Room and Traincrew Depot at Sellafield station, ensuring the smooth coordination of all nuclear train movements.Your Role and Responsibilities:As a Sellafield Controller, you will:Coordinate Nuclear Train Movements: Liaise with train crew, Site Rail, Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC), customers, and stakeholders to ensure all DRS nuclear train movements run smoothly to and from the site and nationally.Communicate Effectively: Provide accurate and regular updates on national nuclear operations, including train plans, changes, cancellations, departures, arrivals, and more.Interface with Stakeholders: Act as an effective interface between DRS customers, internal staff, and suppliers to ensure all nuclear train movements adhere to DRS and Railway Group standards.Manage Nuclear Control Room Operations: Undertake all necessary TOPS work, produce daily Nuclear Control Logs, and actively contribute to the planning and delivery of specialised movements.Ensure Compliance: Organise and manage relevant documentation, ensure compliance with safety standards, and maintain up-to-date risk assessments and method of work files.Support Traincrew and Contractors: Engage with traincrew and contractors, ensuring they are briefed on operational requirements and safety standards.Maintain Building Safety: Manage building safety through inspections, housekeeping, and fire warden duties, ensuring a safe working environment for all.What We Offer:Competitive Salary: Reflective of your skills and experience.Professional Development: Opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in the nuclear transport industry.Collaborative Environment: Work with a diverse team of professionals across various functions and locations.Qualifications and Experience:Essential:GCSE grades A to C or Scottish Standard Grades.Training to City & Guilds (NVQ3) or equivalent and experience in a relevant field.Experience in the nuclear industry and with safety protocols.Professional communication skills regarding safety-critical matters.Experienced TOPS and associated systems operator.Desirable:Higher or further level qualifications in a relevant field.Knowledge of the railway network, DRS business, and Sellafield site.Skills and Attributes:High standards and results focus.Excellent communication and organisational skills.Good time management and ability to work unsupervised.Strong team player with the ability to work using own initiative.Customer focus and people management skills.Proficiency in IT skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Q Pulse.Join Us and Make a Difference!If you are ready to take on this exciting challenge and contribute to the success of Nuclear Transport Solutions, we would love to hear from you.
