Lucy Legal LLP is a respected full-service law firm with a well-established reputation in real estate and commercial law. We work with institutional investors, developers, corporates, and private clients on transactions ranging from high-value acquisitions to complex landlord and tenant matters. Our Real Estate team is known for combining technical excellence with pragmatic, commercial advice—and for genuinely enjoying what we do.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Associate to take real ownership of a varied caseload whilst being supported by experienced practitioners who invest time in your development. You'll work on a mix of straightforward commercial conveyancing transactions—where you'll manage the file from instruction through to completion—and provide substantive support on larger, more sophisticated deals. Whether you're conducting title investigations, drafting lease amendments, advising on SDLT planning, or managing post-completion formalities, you'll see transactions through to the finish line and understand the commercial context behind the legal work.
Your day-to-day will be genuinely varied. One afternoon you might be reviewing local authority searches and raising pre-contract enquiries on a retail unit acquisition; the next, you could be negotiating licence to assign terms with a tenant's advisers or conducting AML due diligence on a secured lending transaction. You'll work closely with clients, agents, and lenders, building the relationships and commercial awareness that define a successful real estate practitioner. The team values thoroughness, clear communication, and the ability to spot issues early—and you'll be trusted to exercise judgment on straightforward matters whilst having access to advice on the trickier ones.
We're genuinely invested in your progression. Real estate is a practice area where early responsibility builds expertise quickly, and we want you to develop the technical knowledge, client-handling skills, and business sense needed to progress to Senior Associate level. You'll participate in team training, be encouraged to contribute to client updates and thought leadership, and have the space to build your own client relationships alongside supervised work. This hybrid role is based in Newport Pagnell and offers the flexibility to balance focused office time with remote working when appropriate.
