Qualifications/Certificates:
· Level 1 and Level 2 teaching qualification
· Lifeguard qualification/Water Rescue certification (Sprint Swim Academy are willing to provide this training to support the role if this is not currently held)
· DBS certificate holder or happy to provide information to enable this to be obtained prior to start date

We are looking for a qualified Swim Teacher for the opportunity to join our vibrant team and teach in our stunning private swimming pool at Sprint Swim Academy. The role must bring plenty of enthusiasm, passion and positive attitude to the swim school, be a good communicator, have the ability to inspire confidence and motivate little swimmers with perseverance and patience.
We ask that our Swim Teachers are energetic, hard-working, enjoy being around people, work well with children and adults, love the water, are able to adapt and adjust on the spot and think ahead. Roles include lesson planning, setting up equipment, pool checks and maintenance, teaching classes and tidying away equipment.
The Swim Teacher would be responsible for ensuring that lessons run on time, that all students are comfortable and engaged in the activities being taught and that lessons are planned to be progressive, ensuring regular engagement and feedback with adults/parents/carers. Any new joiners must be assessed as ready for their level to safely start at any point.
We run swimming lessons and a variety of swim programmes for children aged 0+ and adults.
Your role will be to teach children and adults of all ages and abilities to develop strong swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water, ensuring progression is managed on a consistent basis following training guidelines and standards provided by the Swim Manager and following the STA Programme.
Key Responsibilities
· Delivering safe and high quality swimming lessons appropriate to the level
· of class and student
· Ensuring that all equipment is stored safely and securely when not in use.
· Planning and delivering a progressive swimming programme following the STA (Swimming Teachers Association) programme
· Ensure sessions run to time
· Assisting customers with enquiries in a friendly and effective manner, proactively
· Developing and maintaining high standards of customer care
· Resolving customers' queries and any concerns, including situations where there is disagreement over the actions and outcomes involved
· Following and adhering to direction and guidance from the Swim Manager
· Working as part of a team, in-particularly with our reception staff, to ensure the smooth operation of the facility
· Following Pool Safety Operating Procedures
· To administer First Aid as required
· To act in accordance with, and actively promote, Sprint Swim Academy's policies and standards
· To undertake any other duties that commensurate with the post's level of responsibility
· Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
· Knowledge of Safeguarding legislation
· A dynamic individual with a 'can do', results driven approach and attitude
· Demonstrates trust, openness and respect in dealing with people
· Able to work flexible hours - swim lessons are held throughout the day and evenings
· Ability to work cover for colleagues during holidays outside of own fixed schedule
Hours:
Variety of hours offered;
Part-time.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Friday 8am to 8.30pm.
Salary:
This would be based on individual experience upon commencement of the post with an increment scale from £12.21 per hour.
