Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Flexible, ad-hoc
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 15:30, term time only
Salary: £14.45 - £15.20 per hour
Are you a passionate and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work opportunities? We are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of special educational needs (SEN) schools and provisions. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in diverse settings while making a meaningful impact on students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
About The Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism, ADHD and other learning difficulties. You will have the flexibility to choose short-term, long-term or day-to-day assignments across a variety of SEN and mainstream settings.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and group support to students with a range of SEN
* Assist the teachers in delivering tailored plans that support individual learning needs
* Use positive behaviour management strategies to help students engage in learning
* Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student confidence and independence
* Work alongside teachers, therapists and SENCOs to implement EHCPs
* Adapt to different school environments and be ready to support varied educational approaches.
Who We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children in the UK is essential. Experience with SEN, SEMH or additional learning needs would be highly beneficial.
* A patient, compassionate and resilient approach to supporting students
* The ability to adapt quickly to different school settings and student requirements
* A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is advantageous but not required
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
