Overview

The Technical Sales Engineer plays a crucial role in integrating my clients system components into anaerobic digestion (AD) sites, ensuring alignment with the company's technical, commercial, and operational objectives. Acting as the technical link between sales, engineering, and project delivery, they oversee the specification and seamless integration of the product family within the existing AD market. They assess the technical and practical feasibility of prospective sites, conduct early-stage evaluations, and engage with potential customers from a technical perspective. They author and maintain key technical documentation, supporting the development of robust project specifications, cost estimates and business cases. Throughout the project lifecycle, they provide hands-on support to ensure sites are realised as intended, address technical challenges, verify compliance with industry standards, and optimise project outcomes.


Responsibilities

* Conduct site appraisals for potential customer sites after initial Sales visits, assessing key integration considerations, installation feasibility, and operational risks.
* Identify, document, and communicate all technical considerations across internal teams to support seamless project execution.
* Provide technical information to the sales and project delivery teams; assist in the development of cost estimates and support the preparation of accurate quotations aligned with customer requirements.
* Coordinate with AD site operators to support deployment and integration of Gas Processing products, ensuring adherence to agreed scope during installation and commissioning.
* Contribute to the creation and delivery of specific training programmes, covering the AD industry and equipment.
* Act as the system expert during site visits, providing technical oversight and justification for customer approvals through the governance system.
* Offer guidance on testing and diagnostics of operational sites, identifying improvements to enhance gas capture rates and quality.
* Develop and maintain operational and commercial documentation to support successful commercial deployments.
* Ensure adherence to company procedures and ISO standards; collaborate with Product Development to drive innovation in the AD sector.
* Lead the technical review of site feasibility, ensuring thorough assessment and documentation during the appraisal stage.
* Represent the company professionally during site visits, upholding core values; lead on-site teams to ensure safe and efficient task execution.


What we are looking for

* Maintain a comprehensive understanding of both commercial and operational aspects of current and upcoming projects; stay aware of milestones and challenges.
* Foster collaboration between engineering, sales, and product management to align specified solutions with client goals and requirements.
* Contribute to cross-functional discussions to promote shared understanding of project objectives and consistent problem solving.
* Coordinate site visit schedules and technical document authoring between sales and programme functions; prioritize workload.
* Ensure all key documentation and CRM entries related to site visits are maintained and accessible to the team.
* Provide regular updates to customer owners, project managers, and technical departments; promptly raise issues that may impact the project.
* Maintain clear boundaries between technical and commercial roles; ensure customer relationships are managed by the appropriate team members.
* Submit detailed technical reports following site visits in alignment with project timelines.
