Overview
We are looking for a Paediatric Community Bladder and Bowel Nurse Specialist (PCBBNS). They will be a member of the Paediatric Community Integrated Nursing Team providing specialised and skilled nursing care for children with continence conditions in the community. The PCBBNS will work with the Modern Matron and the Service Manager to ensure a consistent model of paediatric continence provision with ongoing training and development to maintain a high quality service in the community. The successful candidate will develop and promote effective working relationships with both the Acute and Community sectors to enhance delivery of patient care and reduce hospital attendance and A&E attendance. The PCBBNS will provide evidenced based nursing care and support to children and young people and families with continence needs and/or bladder or bowel dysfunction across Mid, South East and South West Essex.
Responsibilities
* Assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care without supervision; teach other registered and non-registered nursing staff, educational professionals, parents/families/carers.
* Provide professional advice and support to the colleagues, Matron and Service Manager.
* Facilitate clinical audit and participate in the development of clinical governance for Paediatric Continence nursing service.
* Facilitate innovation and service development within the paediatric continence service.
* Collaborate with Modern Matrons, Clinical Leads, Specialist Nurses and Service Managers to ensure evidence-based practice across Essex.
* Coordinate placements of students and their training as part of rotation through integrated targeted services.
