Are you an experienced mental health pharmacist with a passion for medicines optimisation and clinical pharmacy? The Trust is currently seeking to recruit a compassionate and motivated individual to work in the Addictions Service at the Prestwich site as a key member of the multidisciplinary team.
As an integral member of the clinical team, and alongside pharmacy colleagues, you'll address the pharmaceutical care needs of our services users.
In addition to your clinical role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to medicines management processes at local and trust level. There will be opportunities to lead on development of trust policies and in the education and training of GMMH staff
You will act as a role model for junior pharmacist and trainee pharmacists and will have the opportunity to line manage and act as a mentor.
You will have the opportunity to act as Designated Supervisor for trainee pharmacists.
As a senior member of the pharmacy team, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to broader Trust initiatives and priorities
Main duties of the job
The post provides an opportunity for the following: -
1. pharmaceutical care planning and clinical review of prescriptions
2. Involvement of service users in decisions about their medicines to optimise treatment, support adherence and improve outcomes
3. Provision of specialist pharmaceutical advice to the multi-disciplinary team (MDT)
4. Development of a non-medical prescribing role
5. Provision of clinical supervision, professional leadership and line management to other members of the team
6. Ensure appropriate governance arrangements are in place for the management of medicines, including the monitoring of prescribing and medicines use throughout GMMH
7. Education and Training of GMMH staff including development of medication training days/learning packages
8. Attendance at best practice groups and strategic trust meetings
9. Actively working to contribute to and deliver the Trust medicines optimisation strategy

10. Current Member of GPhC
11. Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy
12. Experience in Mental Health/Addictions Clinical Pharmacy
13. Medicines Management Experience
14. Experience of Multidisciplinary Working
15. Experience of Line Managing and Supervising Staff
Desirable criteria
16. Experienceof delivering training to healthcare staff
17. Experience of designing medicines management training for healthcare staff
18. Experience of leadership role
19. Experience of being a Designated Supervisor, Designated Prescribing Practitioner or Education Supervisor for Trainee Pharmacists
