The Abbeyfield Society are a national charity helping to alleviate loneliness and isolation in older people by providing companionship in our supported housing accommodation, retirement apartments and care homes.

You can never underestimate the power a friendly face and a home cooked meal has on someone’s day. This is a varied role, with resident wellbeing at the forefront of what we do.
As a Kitchen Assistant your tasks will include -
* Keeping all kitchen and store areas clean and hygienic
* Managing incoming deliveries and the correct storage of goods
* Working alongside the Cook to provide healthy meals to our residents
* To be responsible for the daily use of catering equipment, monitoring usage and reporting any issues
* Completing food and drink preparation and transporting prepared food to the relevant dining area to be served.
Our ideal candidate for Kitchen Assistant will have the following qualities-
* A cheerful and friendly demeanour
* Understand the needs of older people
* Organised and Proactive
* Has a Level 3 Food Safety certificate or willing to undertake through Abbeyfield.
