Bringing Hope is a Christian charitable organisation working to support the transformation, development and rehabilitation of individuals and families impacted by the criminal justice system. We work with those whose behaviours and attitudes are considered a ‘challenge’, to themselves, their families, and the wider community. To deliver high-quality, person-centred support to individuals and families affected by serious youth violence and involvement in the criminal justice system, as part of the Damascus Road Prison and Community ‘Second Chance’ Project. The post holder will work with young people (14) and adults up to 35, both in custody and in the community, supporting their rehabilitation, reintegration, and positive personal development in line with Bringing Hope’s mission of Hope, Enrichment & Empowerment. As we enter this new phase of development, Bringing Hope is seeking to employ individuals with enthusiasm, drive and creativity and person-centered skills, to join our small team. If you can fulfill the following specifications below, you may be that person: SPECIFIC DUTIES : Direct Client Support & Casework Deliver one-to-one and group-based interventions in prison and community settings. Complete comprehensive initial assessments of client needs. Develop, implement, and regularly review individual Support Plans. Work collaboratively with clients to identify goals that reduce risk of reoffending and promote positive life choices. Maintain consistent written communication with clients transferring across the prison estate. Make appropriate referrals to specialist services (e.g., mental health, substance misuse, therapeutic services). Sustain positive, professional working relationships with clients and families. 2. Risk Management & Safeguarding Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans. Identify emerging risks and escalate appropriately. Ensure safeguarding is prioritised at all times and reported in line with organisational procedures. Maintain high standards of confidentiality within policy and legal frameworks. Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement Work collaboratively with probation services, prison staff, Birmingham Children’s Trust, and other statutory partners. Develop and maintain effective partnerships that support positive pathways for clients. Contribute to the development of forums (young people, parents, females) where required. Support consultation and accountability mechanisms to ensure client voice is embedded. 4. Record Keeping & Reporting Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case records. Update support plans and activity logs consistently. Contribute to monitoring reports and outcome data. Ensure documentation meets audit and compliance standards. 5. Values-Led Practice Deliver services within an anti-discriminatory and non-judgemental framework. Promote participation and empowerment in all client interactions. Engage fully in supervision and reflective practice.
