About The Role
We now have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Senior Test Analyst to join our team, taking on responsibility for ensuring the ongoing and improving quality and stability of internal and customer-facing, business-critical and innovative applications, in both new and legacy technologies where appropriate.
Sunbelt Rentals is a FTSE100 business operating a bespoke Agile framework based on SCRUM and KANBAN, combined with Waterfall project management principles at a program level to ensure correct prioritisation and scoping of deliverables. As a Senior Test Analyst, you will participate in sprint cycles, planning, review sessions, and the iterative build, test, and deployment processes within your delivery team.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Embed as part of an AGILE delivery team and ensure quality of delivery through best practice test processes and procedures.
* Mentor junior team members in manual, technical, and automation testing principles and techniques.
* Estimate effort for test scripting and execution.
* Design test cases to cover new and existing functionality, improving overall test coverage.
* Perform technical testing of APIs, including Authentication & Authorization, API requests & responses, and response codes using tools such as Postman.
* Query databases using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio for data validation and test data gathering.
* Execute manual test scripts, identify faults/bugs, prioritize issues, and pass them to the development team for resolution.
* Conduct ad-hoc exploratory testing to uncover unknown errors in areas of limited test coverage.
* Test across multiple environments and browser configurations to ensure comprehensive coverage.
* Support the creation and maintenance of automation tests.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices to enhance productivity and quality.
The role offers a hybrid working model, combining remote work (minimum 3 days per week) with office presence.
About You
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field or demonstrable relevant experience.
* Significant industry experience as a Senior Test Analyst.
* Professional certification in relevant technologies.
Desired Skills:
* Experience with Azure DevOps Test Manager/TFS.
* Experience testing APIs with tools like Postman.
* Ability to query multiple database tables for data validation and test data collection.
* Test automation experience.
* Scripting tests from user stories and acceptance criteria.
* Defect classification and management skills.
* Experience testing web, mobile, and desktop/mainframe applications.
* Excellent communication skills.
