Are you an experienced tutor or educator with a passion for supporting young people outside of mainstream education? We're currently seeking a dedicated and patient AP Tutors to work 1:1 with students in Thrapston, and surrounding areas who require alternative provision. About the Role: As an AP Tutor, you'll provide personalised 1:1 tuition to students who are not currently in mainstream school. These learners may face challenges including SEMH needs, anxiety, exclusion, or other barriers to education. Your role is to re-engage them with learning and help them progress academically and personally. Tutoring may take place at the student’s home, a designated community venue, or online. Key Responsibilities: Deliver tailored lessons in core subjects (e.g. English, Maths, Science) Build rapport and trust with learners to help them feel safe and supported Use creative strategies to encourage engagement and progress Liaise with carers, schools and other professionals as needed Monitor attendance and provide regular progress reports What We’re Looking For: Teaching or tutoring experience (QTS/QTLS preferred but not essential) Experience working with disengaged or vulnerable young people Excellent communication and behaviour management skills A calm, flexible, and empathetic approach Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain) What We Offer: Flexible working to suit your schedule A chance to make a real difference to a young person’s life Competitive pay of up to £30 per hour Consistent opportunities Interested?
