The Training Programme Director in General Adult Psychiatry for Greater Manchester and Lancashire will support the Head of School in the Strategic Development of the School of Psychiatry.
There are two PAs available for the role overall. Historically this has worked well with two people sharing the role and being remunerated at 1 PA each, and we would be looking to follow this pattern again and appoint two candidates.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead on the development of the School’s Recruitment and Retention Strategy and contribute to supporting the School Operational Programme.
* Be a member of the School Board.
* Focus on improvement of learner supervision, assessment and experience, engagement of faculty, and ensuring effective educational outcomes.
* Work on whole workforce transformation and developing multi-professional links.
As a result of NHS England's integration into the Department of Health and Social Care, the end date for all new educator appointments will be 31st March 2027. The successful applicant will be updated regarding potential extensions beyond this date, which are not guaranteed.
Ideal Candidate
* Experienced NHS Consultant with a thorough understanding of specialty training across the region.
* Strong leadership and communication skills and able to work effectively as a member of a multi-professional team.
If successful at interview, we will initiate an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) to retrieve key data from your current or previous NHS employer to support onboarding, including competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement. You may opt out at any stage of the process.
Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
