Senior Structural Engineer Leeds Calibre Search are working alongside a forward thinking and independent Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy. Who provide access to expertise in Engineering design and complementary services nationwide through a network of seven offices. Their services span Structural, Civil and Glass Engineering Design, together with Building Surveying, advice on health & safety and environment issues, and Expert Witness services. Due to securing a number of exciting new projects they are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and driven engineer with experience of working on insurance claims and is keen to develop their career in Structural Engineering. As a Senior Engineer, you will be working in an Associate-led team with responsibility for your own projects, as well as managing intermediate and graduate engineers in the team. You will also be expected to manage project budgets and engage with clients and fellow consultants. You will produce technical design information including sketches, calculations, specifications and reports and be able to review and approve reports, designs, drawings, sketches and calculations in accordance with quality procedures As the workload is varied, it important that you have experience on new build projects and refurbishments and the project management and financial control of small and medium sized projects. You will be responsible for managing the preparation of feasibility studies and reports, undertaking structural surveys and producing reports giving findings, discussion, conclusions and recommendations. As the role requires travel, you will be confident in obtaining and reviewing quotes for investigation works and then managing and coordinating the appointments and work of sub-contractors carrying out investigation works. As well as undertaking site inspections, recording findings and advising on any required actions you will be able to coordinate designs to the brief and approve information deliverables As a Chartered or near Chartered Engineer, you will have a working knowledge of SCIA and Tekla Building Designer for designing structures in concrete, steelwork, timber and masonry and be able to design to both British Standards and Eurocodes. It is important that you are experienced in the production of specifications and technical reports and feasibility studies and be able to work within the ISO 19650 environment and associated processes You will have good detailing knowledge including buildability aspects and a good understanding of CDM regulations and the responsibilities of a designer A full UK drivers license is required for this role and free parking is on offer.
