Stock Controller Engineering Manufacturer (West Sussex) Full-time | Competitive Salary | Permanent We’re supporting a long-established engineering and manufacturing business in West Sussex as they look to appoint a Stock Controller to strengthen their operations and drive improvements across stock control and ERP processes. This is a hands-on, analytical role at the centre of a growing production environment working closely with finance, procurement, and production to ensure accuracy, visibility, and control across all materials and components. The company is currently transitioning to a more advanced load-based stock control model driven by BOMs and MRP data, so this position will suit someone who enjoys using data to improve systems, streamline processes, and make a tangible impact across a business. The Opportunity You’ll take ownership of stock management processes, data accuracy, and reporting — helping to ensure materials are available where and when they’re needed. It’s a role that blends system control with practical understanding, offering genuine variety day to day. You’ll be working as part of a supportive team where ideas are valued, and you’ll have the scope to help shape how stock is controlled and reported as the company continues to evolve its systems. Key Responsibilities Maintain stock accuracy and traceability across all areas of production. Administer and update data within the ERP system, including stock adjustments, new part setups, and system parameters. Create and refine stock and production reports to support decision-making. Track production-critical parts and resolve discrepancies before they impact workflow. Support perpetual inventory checks and annual stock takes. Ensure high-value components are correctly allocated and costed. Collaborate with procurement and production to optimise stock levels and reduce WIP. Support the management of the stores function and assist with wider operational improvement projects.About You Experienced in stock control, inventory, or materials management within a manufacturing or engineering setting. Confident using ERP / MRP systems (Epicor, SAP, or similar). Strong IT and reporting skills with a keen eye for detail. Analytical, methodical, and proactive in identifying improvements. Team player with a positive attitude and flexible approach. Comfortable communicating across departments and building relationships at all levels.
