For this SEN Behaviour Support Assistant role, you will:
Work closely with students with SEN, providing one-on-one or group support to help them manage their behaviours effectively.
Implement individualized behaviour support plans, tailored to the specific needs of each student.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to develop strategies and interventions to support students' behavioural needs.
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress towards goals.
Provide feedback and guidance to teachers and parents on behaviour management techniques and strategies.
For this role, you will need:
Relevant experience working with children or young people with SEN, preferably in a school or educational setting.
A compassionate and patient approach when working with students with behavioural challenges.
Good understanding of SEN and knowledge of various behavioural support techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to different learning environments.
Basic knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to SEN in an educational setting.
