We are currently recruiting for Maintenance Engineering Apprenticeship opportunities across three trades mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation, to join our team at our integrated Fawley Refinery and Chemical Complex in Hampshire, where you’ll discover an intricate mass of valves, towers, exchangers and pipes, offering endless opportunities to challenge and extend your skills every day. You will join a team committed to producing the energy and chemical products that are essential to modern life, economic development, and improved standards of living, while protecting our people, the environment and the well-being of communities where we operate.

Training
4. Beginning in September 2026
5. A 3-year apprenticeship
6. Full time with allocated days with our training provider, Cogent Skills and college providers
The Roles: (You can choose your preference on application)
1. Mechanical
You would work in our workshops and out on site, installing pumps, compressors, turbines and machine components, with precise tolerances and strong reliability to ensure the safe & productive operations. With the foundations of your training in traditional engineering, you will learn to analyse failure modes, identify the root cause and help develop and implement solutions to prevent repeat failures.

2. Electrical
Power is the key to everything at Fawley. Without it, we couldn’t do what we do. We even have our own power plant! You will develop skills that range from working with low-voltage alarm systems, right up to 11,000-volt motors. You’ll gain knowledge of substations, plant areas, switchgear and all the ins and outs of alarm and lighting circuits.

3.Instrumentation and Control
A wide range of Instruments are used to measure and control all the processes that take place on site, as well as providing automated shutdown sequences to ensure the site runs safely. You will develop the ability to test, maintain, repair and install instruments, as well as learning the technical basis of their operation. You will acquire the skills to work on pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical equipment. There are numerous transferrable skills within instrumentation that can be applied to many roles across multiple industries.
