We are looking to recruit two dynamic, experienced and self‑motivated nurses or AHPs into this exciting new Nutrition Practitioner role. We have funding for 1.6 WTE positions to work across our two acute hospitals: Conquest and EDGH.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work with adult inpatients, the acute medical, surgical and gastro teams, and dietitians to support delivery of excellent nutritional care, primarily for patients requiring artificial nutrition support.
2. Work as an integral member of multidisciplinary teams and the Nutrition & Dietetic service, acting as an expert in the management of complex patients requiring artificial nutrition support and providing advice, support and training to staff, in line with evidence‑based practice.
3. Support the safe and effective provision of nutrition interventions within the Trust.
4. Provide nutrition leadership and professional advice to the Trust and support the development and implementation of the Trust Nutrition Strategy.
5. Carry out scoping and impact assessment to demonstrate the clinical benefits, safety improvements and efficiencies associated with having a Nutrition Practitioner in post.
6. Work in close partnership with the Head of Dietetics, Dietetic Advanced Practitioners, dietitians, nurses, members of the Nutrition and Hydration steering group and multidisciplinary clinical leads, General Practitioners and education colleagues to design and implement innovative, efficient and accessible models of care that promote equity of access across a wide demographic of patients.
