What success looks like:
· Supporting team members to achieve their best work
· Mentoring trainee Dental nurses throughout their induction and supporting through their course
· Ordering materials and managing stock to stay within the practice budget
· Assisting the team to maximise UDA delivery
Questions you will want to answer:
· Are all team members working safely, efficiently and competently?
· Is the practice compliant and prepared for a CQC visit?
· Am I communicating with the whole team effectively?
· Am I demonstrating the GDC standards?
PATIENT JOURNEY & EXPERIENCE
What success looks like:
· Ensure that the care and welfare of patients is a priority of the practice.
· Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times
* Maintain a professional standard of conduct
Questions you will want to answer:
· Is an excellent patient experience the goal of all team members?
· Are all team members adequately trained to carry out their roles effectively?
· Do our patients recommend our practice?
PERFORMANCE
What success looks like:
· Stock is managed and ordered within the allowed budget
· Materials are not wasted or stockpiled
· Equipment and handpieces are maintained in accordance with manufacturers guidance to avoid expensive repair bills
Questions you will want to answer:
· Am I aware of the practice and individual dentist's targets?
· Are the clinicians supported pro-actively in surgery so they perform at their best?
· Is stock controlled to avoid unnecessary orders?
CLINICAL & COMPLIANCE
What success looks like:
· All staff are adequately trained to carry out their role
· Trainee nurses are supported and motivated to study
· Audits are completed in a timely way and resultant actions carried out
· Foundation dentists are supported in their development and training
· Specialist dentists are supported to deliver high quality patient care to patients
Questions you will want to answer:
· How can I support the trainee nurses through their induction and training period?
· What support can I give my Head Nurse to ensure the practice is compliant?
· Is my own CPD up to date and reflective of my PDP?
· Is my own knowledge sufficient to support the specialist dentists delivering treatment?
· Are clinical records accurate and stored securely
