Chef de Partie Location: Shell Centre, York Road, London SE1 7NA Hours: 40 hours per week Pay: £16.60 per hour Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm (hours may vary according to business requirements) About the Role As a Chef de Partie, you will support the Catering Manager in delivering all catering services to the required standards, specifications, and performance levels. You will also take responsibility for the catering operation in the absence of the Catering Manager. This is a hands-on role within a high-volume environment, requiring strong leadership, organisational skills, and a passion for food quality and service. Key Responsibilities Enforce all relevant statutory, company, and site Health & Safety compliance, including monitoring related equipment Support and lead catering employees to perform their roles to a high standard in line with Sodexo policies and procedures Assist the Executive Chef in ensuring food quality, hygiene, and compliance throughout the food cycle in line with HACCP standards Ensure the timely preparation and delivery of meals to agreed standards Maintain stock levels in line with agreed targets and manage purchasing through Sodexo-nominated suppliers Ensure preparation, production, and presentation of food meets Sodexo standards and procedures Monitor financial documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to budget Identify opportunities for sales growth within the contract and wider market Ensure all equipment is safe, regularly checked, serviced, and not used if faulty Maintain the security of equipment, monies, and the overall establishment Deputise for the Catering Manager when required, ensuring a professional and customer-focused service is delivered Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, hygiene, fire safety, COSHH, and safe working practices This list is not exhaustive but provides an outline of the role. Accountabilities Full compliance with company and client policies, statutory regulations, and Health & Safety standards Delivery of services in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Timely completion of P&L reporting with performance exceeding company targets Continuous service development and improvement Positive client relationships and high levels of client satisfaction Achievement of strong unit audit scores Staff recruitment and retention in line with company guidelines Delivery of all internal compliance standards What We’re Looking For Level 2 Food Safety and Level 2 Health & Safety qualifications (essential) Proven experience managing a section in a high-volume catering environment Relevant craft and Health & Safety qualifications and training Strong industry knowledge and awareness of catering trends and innovations Passion for food, service, and continuous improvement Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience working within a standards-driven and compliance-focused environment What We Offer Working with Sodexo is more than just a job.
