Job Description
This role is intended to provide the intern with 12-month experience (as applicable within the structure of their degree course) within the Creation, Design and Development (CD&D) Department at ADM Protexin, Somerset.
The role will provide a mixture of hands-on development work in our laboratory and pilot plant as well as the opportunity to learn the background structure and system set up to enable those developments to be upscaled into the production facility.
The role will suit someone with an interest in probiotics and food supplements who wants to gain experience in a company focussed on developing and producing high quality, efficacious supplements to support the health and well-being of humans and their pets.
Specifications team function:
1. Creation and management of product specifications and other technical files, certificates of conformance and composition documents during development and full product lifecycle ensuring all data is accurate and up to date.
2. Support artwork reviews & B2B2C costing requests
3. Build product structures on our ERP system, IFS.
Development team function:
4. Assist in the development of powder, paste, capsules, tablet and other product formats as well as the improvement of existing products with the ADM Protexin development department.
5. Keeping a clean and organised laboratory space
6. Support the development and set up of trials.
Skills & Abilities:
7. A good level of IT knowledge is essential to operate our ERP system and to efficiently present reports.
8. A problem-solving mindset and an enthusiasm for working with development equipment.
9. Self-motivation and initiative.
10. Communication.
11. Computer literate.
12. Prioritisation.
13. Attention to detail.
14. Maths.
Education & Experience:
15. Degree in physical / material sciences, chemistry or equivalent is desirable, understanding of microbiology would be very useful.
