Swift Education are recruiting a dedicated
1:1 Teaching Assistant
to support a
Year 5 pupil with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD)
at a Private Independent School in Richmond.
* Provide tailored 1:1 support for a Year 5 student with DMD, ensuring they can fully access learning and school life.
* Assist with physical needs, mobility, and personal care where required.
* Work alongside teachers and therapists to adapt lessons, using technology and resources to meet the students needs.
* Encourage independence, confidence, and social interaction with peers.
* Ensure the classroom is a safe and inclusive environment.
About Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD)
* DMD is a progressive muscle-wasting condition that can affect mobility, learning, and overall physical health.
* Pupils may require mobility support, adapted seating, and help with transitions around school.
* Clear communication, patience, and understanding are essential to supporting the childs academic and social development.
What Were Looking For
* Previous experience supporting children with physical disabilities, complex medical needs, or in SEN settings.
* A compassionate, adaptable, and proactive approach.
* Confidence in providing both academic and care-based support (training will be provided).
* Ability to work closely with parents, therapists, and the wider school team.
* Start: Immediate
* Contract: Full-time through to July 2026
* Pay: £105£115 per day
